Royal Castle of Blois







The Royal Castle of Blois, located in the department of Loir-et-Cher is part of the castles of the Loire. He was the favorite of the kings of France during the Renaissance residence. Located in the heart of the city of Blois, on the right bank of the Loire, the Royal Castle of Blois gathered around a main courtyard of French architecture from the Middle Ages to the Classical period making it a key building for understanding the evolution of the architecture over the centuries. The restored royal apartments are furnished and decorated with polychrome decoration of the nineteenth century created by Félix Duban in the tradition of contemporary Viollet-le-Duc restaurateurs
